에비타는  아르헨티나의 대통령이던 후안 페론의 두 번째 부인이었던

 에바 페론(1919-1952)의 애칭으로 에바는 주점의 호스티스에서

퍼스트레이디가 되었으며 남편의 죽음으로 한때 국정을 맡기도 했지만

말년에 권좌에서 쫓겨난 기구한 삶을 살다가 세상을 떠났는데

그녀의 생애와 죽음을 그린 오페라가 입니다.

 

사생아로 태어나 클럽의 댄서등을 거쳐배우와 가수로 활동했던

에바 두아르테는 노동부 장관이던 후안 페론을 만나게 된다..

 

둘은 사랑에 빠져 결혼하고 후안 페론이대통령이 되어 에바 페론은

아르헨티나의 퍼스트 레이디로 등극하지만그 생활은 오래가지 못한다..

 

33세의 젊은 나이에 암에 걸려사망했기 때문이다....
